Alfred “Jack” Lee Whitaker, age 84, of Clayton, Illinois passed away at 6:34 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

He was born June 25, 1933 in Fishhook, Illinois the son of Kenneth L. and Clara W. Predmore Whitaker.

Mr. Whitaker worked for the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy for over 24 years. 

He graduated from Belvader High School with the class of 1951.

Mr. Whitaker was a veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include 1 nephew Wally Feasel of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Mary Lou Whitaker and Patricia Feasel.

Military graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 in the Sunset Cemetery in Quincy, Illinois conducted by the Illinois National Guard Funeral Honors Detail.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
