Barbara Lynne (Wilson) Miller, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Meramec Bluffs retirement center in Ballwin, Missouri. 

She was born May 14, 1937 to Roy and Mildred Wilson of Versailles, Illinois. Barbara was a graduate of Brown County High School class of 1955 and then graduated with an Associate of Arts from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri in 1957. She obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi upon completion of her graduate studies in Macomb. Barbara served an elementary education teacher in Meredosia, Illinois for thirty years.

She loved music, taught piano lessons, and served as musical director and pianist at many area churches. In retirement she continued to work with children at New Berlin and Jacksonville, Illinois area schools. Barbara enjoyed being fully involved in her children and grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan (John) Menner of Ballwin, Missouri and one son, Brad (Jennifer) Miller of Wake Forest, North Carolina. Five grandchildren Miranda Miller, of Springfield, Illinois, Grace and Zach Miller of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Sam and Skylar Menner of Ballwin, Missouri. Four step grandchildren Josiah, Tristan, Ethan and Ella Beaulieu of Wake Forest, North Carolina. One brother, John Wilson of Versailles, Illinois and one sister Louise Penington, of Meredosia, Illinois survive as well as several nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildred and Roy Wilson.

A private memorial service was held at Meramec Bluffs Chapel, Ballwin, Missouri.

Per her wishes, cremation will be accorded and a private burial will be held at the Versailles West Side Cemetery, Versailles, Illinois at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to MADD, Jacksonville, Illinois chapter or to Versailles Christian Church, Versailles Illinois.
