Dale E. Poe, Sr.

Dale Edward Poe, Sr., age 52, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 8:48 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

He was born June 3, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas the son of Harold and Barbara Cook Poe.  He married Lori Miller on June 29, 1991 at Siloam Springs State Park and she survives.

Dale worked for Jennings Brothers Sanitation in Mt. Sterling for several years.

He graduated from Quincy High School with the class of 1983.

Dale was a member of The Crossing Church in Mt. Sterling, where he was recently baptized.

He was a member of Pathfinders A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Lori Poe of Mt. Sterling.  3 children Derek Wilson of Pittsfield, Illinois, Dale Poe, Jr. of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Barbara Poe of Mt. Sterling.  1 granddaughter Taylinn Poe of Mt. Sterling.  1 brother and 8 sisters also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandsons in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Ethan Sefton officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
