David L. Sarver, Sr.

David Leroy Sarver, Sr., age 69, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and formerly of Springfield, Illinois passed away at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

He was born March 19, 1947 in Pekin, Illinois the son of Roscoe and Jewel Fisher Sarver.  He married Susan Carroll on August 27, 1966 in Bloomington, Illinois and she survives.

Mr. Sarver worked as a maintenance supervisor for Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Springfield, Illinois for several years.

He attended Pekin, Illinois schools.

David was a model railroad enthusiast and was also a very talented artist and musician.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Sarver of Mt. Sterling.  2 sons Rolland Sarver (Shannon) of Rushville and David Leroy Sarver, Jr. (Amanda) of Payson.  1 sister Kathleen Horton of Pekin, Illinois.  6 grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 in the Harbour Cemetery south of Hersman.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.

A luncheon will be served following the services at the K of C Hall in Mt. Sterling.
