Dorothy E. Prillmayer, age 102, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.

She was born December 31, 1913 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of William Austin and Gertrude McDonald Keith.  She married Joseph A. Prillmayer on April 11, 1936 in Bushnell, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1989.

Mrs. Prillmayer was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Prillmayer Meats in Mt. Sterling and Hersman for several years.

She attended Brown County Schools and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling.  Mrs. Prillmayer was also a member of the Holy Family Women’s Guild and the Knight of Columbus Council No. 1281 Auxiliary.  Dorothy always enjoyed bowling and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Survivors include 3 children James “Jim” J. Prillmayer (Pat) of Lakeland, Florida, William “Bill” F. Prillmayer (Donna) of Springfield, Illinois and Agnes Mowen of Mt. Sterling.  9 grandchildren Lynn Pannell, Jeffrey Prillmayer, Joseph Prillmayer, Lisa Mitchell, Debbie Prillmayer, Mike Prillmayer, Luann Ham, Kim Newton and Sheila Gieker.  11 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren also survive with several nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Edna Bond and Mary Houston, a son-in-law, William “Bill” Mowen and a grandson-in-law, Jon Ham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling with Father Steve Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.  A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer or the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
