Marjorie Darlene Hill, age 78, of Versailles, Illinois passed away at 1:40 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at Heritage Health, Therapy & Senior Care in Beardstown, Illinois.

She was born January 15, 1938 in Glasford, Illinois the daughter of Kenneth David “Greek” and Opal Ivene Curtis Malcomson.  She married James Emmett Hill in 1975 in Beardstown, Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1983.

Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and had also worked at several area bars and restaurants.

She attended Schuyler County schools. Marjorie enjoyed volunteering at the Versailles Senior Center, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include 4 children Robert Malcomson (Debbie) of Mt. Sterling, Mike Rohn (Janet) of Pittsfield, Jeff Rohn (companion, Jackie Mobasser) of California and Sandy Barr (companion, Lance Katzenburger) of Mt. Sterling.  12 grandchildren Kendra Rohn, Michael Rohn, Lindsay Hill, Brett Barr, Cameron Rohn, Breanna Rohn, Bailey Rohn, Cash Rohn, Jill Bollinger, Scott Bollinger, Eric Tracy and Drake Tracy.  1 great granddaughter Ava Bollinger.  2 brothers Maurice “Butch” Malcomson of Mexico, Missouri and Marion “Snook” Malcomson (Linda) of Campbellsville, Kentucky.  3 sisters Betty Lehne (companion, Gene Howd) of Carthage, Illinois, Rita Phelps of Weslaco, Texas and Sandy Dunmire (Butch) of Meredosia.  1 sister-in-law Pat Malcomson of Beardstown also survives along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Kenneth Michael, William Eugene and Thomas Mac Malcomson and 2 sisters Ivena Mae Malcomson and Myrna Joan Mahe.

Per Marjorie’s wishes cremation will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Mt. Sterling City Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

A celebration of life will be held following the graveside services at the Mt.Sterling American Legion Building.

Memorials are suggested to the Versailles Senior Center or the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
