Betty Waters

Betty Carolyn Waters, age 81, a resident of The Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, Illinois and formerly of Astoria and Timewell passed away at 11:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at the nursing home.

She was born July 21, 1937 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Osborn Lee and Wilma May Daab Hatch.  She married Lloyd Waters on November 17, 1955 in the Timewell Baptist Church and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1991.

Mrs. Waters was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Heritage Manor Nursing Home South in Beardstown Illinois for several years and also assisted her husband with the operation of the family farm.

Betty attended Brown County schools and later attended John Wood Community College where she received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. 

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include 2 daughters Teresa Davis (Dave) of Astoria, Illinois and Beth Waters-Earhart (Jim) of Hallsville, Missouri.  2 granddaughters Lorna Gillham and Sarah Waters.  2 great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Lee Waters and 2 brothers Norlyn and Lyle Hatch.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the Mounds cemetery near Timewell, Illinois with Pastor Greg Hill officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Brown County Public Library or the American Heart Association.
