Doris E. Logsdon Long Kleinlein, age 83, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Quincy, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Sterling and Griggsville passed away at 6:53 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Bickford Cottage in Quincy.
She was born July 9, 1934 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Everett “Duffy” and Bernice Robbins Logsdon. She married Clifford Alphonse “Al” Long on November 22, 1952 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and to this union 4 daughters were born. She later married Glenn “Bud” Kleinlein on March 2, 1996 in Pittsfield, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2012.
Mrs. Kleinlein worked as a secretary and teller for the Farmers State Bank & Trust Co. in Mt. Sterling for several years.
She graduated from Brown County High School and attended nurses training through Gem City College in Quincy.
Earlier in life, Doris attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling and St. Peters Catholic Church in Quincy and more recently was attending The Crossing Church in Quincy. Doris always enjoyed golfing and was a charter member of Rolling Greens Golf Club in Mt. Sterling. She loved raising flowers and working in her yard, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include 4 daughters Deborah Willis (Robert) of Mt. Sterling, Melinda “Lynn” Geers (Dennis) of Sarasota, Florida, Lori Shepard of Quincy and Lisa Kestner (Gary) of Camp Point. 7 grandchildren Amber Nicole Vazquez, Megan Marie Bowden, Brandon Michael Geers, Breanne Jonae Geers, Allison Nicole Dixon, Garrett Christian Kestner and Olivia Marie Rabe. 3 great grandchildren Asher Benjamin Bowden, Autumn Bradley Dixon and Christian Carter Dixon also survive along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, 1 brother Wayne Logsdon and 1 sister Nancy Tweedt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Father Mike Kuse officiating.
Burial will be in the Hersman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
