Gay Lynn Ivey

Mrs. Gay Lynn Mountain Ivey, age 57, of Perry, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Adams County, Illinois as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born August 28, 1961 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Donald L. and Sharolyn Lee “Sherry” Vose Mountain.  She married Michael Ivey and he preceded her in death. 

Gay Lynn was a devoted stay at home mom and homemaker and for the last 3 years she enjoyed serving as a bus driver for the Timber Point Health Care in Camp Point where she loved spending time with the residents and staff.

She graduated from Liberty High School and also attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois.

Gay Lynn was a member of the Kingston Methodist Church and always enjoyed bowling.  She truly loved attending her children’s many activities, with her greatest joy being spending time with and spoiling her grandsons.

Survivors include her father Donald L. Mountain of Perry, Illinois.  Two children Emilee Kitch (Billy Martin) and Colton Ivey all of Perry, Illinois. 2 grandsons Major and Vance Martin both of Perry, Illinois.   2 brothers Craig Mountain (Penny Hendricks) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and Tab Mountain of Pittsfield, Illinois.  1 sister Penny Drake (John) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.   5 nieces and nephews Trent Mountain, Lacey Bradbury (Kevin), Cami Weinkauf (Dan) and Addy and Darian Drake.  5 great nieces and nephews also survive Carly, Hunter and Gunner Bradbury and Finley and Roman Weinkauf.  

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Mark Dickerson officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Colton Ivey Education Fund.
