Jeri Lyn Quincy, age 60, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 4:21 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois.
She was born November 26, 1958 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Regina Ann O’Connell Quincy.
Jeri was a homemaker. She graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1976 and then attended Robert Morris College in Carthage, Illinois graduating with a medical assistant’s degree.
Jeri was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and playing candy crush, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Kenneth Tanner of Mt. Sterling. 4 children Mark Kelly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lori Monoky, Kenny Tanner and Lisa Tanner all of Mt. Sterling. 9 grandchildren Collin and Matthew Kelly, Taylor Peacock, Easton, Kynsley and Addy Barfield, Bryson Tanner, Wyatt Tanner and Waylon Barfield. 3 sisters Teri Huston (Mike) of Mt. Sterling, Debbie Kemper (Carl) of Mt. Sterling and Diane DeJaynes of Quincy. 1 brother Chad Leenerts of Griggsville also survives along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Dale Leenerts and 1 brother Michael Leenerts.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling with Father Steve Thompson and Deacon Mike Ellerman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of visitation on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer.
