Rick Williams

Richard Lee “Rick” Williams, age 57, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Illinois.

He was born July 11, 1961 in Aurora, Illinois the son of James and Hattie VanBuskirk Williams.  He married Kim Parker on November 20, 1981 at the Mt. Sterling First Baptist Church and she survives.

Rick was a cook for several area restaurants and most recently worked at the Irish House Hotel in Mt. Sterling.  He graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1980. 

Mr. Williams served his country in the United States Navy from 1981 until 1986.

Rick always enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, MaKynnlae.

Survivors also include 1 son Lathan Williams (Brooke) of Mt. Sterling.  1 granddaughter MaKynnlae Rose Williams of Mt. Sterling.  1 brother Bobby Williams of Pittsfield, Illinois.  2 sisters Sharon Sneeden of Buffalo, Illinois and Patty Flowers of Perry, Illinois also survive along with 4 nephews and 3 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Matt Haberman officiating.

Burial will be in the Hersman Cemetery.  Military services will be conducted at the graveside.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
