Roberta Toland

Roberta Alyne Toland, age 94, of Peoria, Illinois and formerly of Brown County, Illinois passed away at 10:53 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 at her residence in Peoria.

She was born August 24, 1923 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Dora Hughes Waters.  She married Lloyd Lyndle Toland on July 5, 1947 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2004.

Mrs. Toland was a homemaker and had also worked in the housekeeping department of Proctor Hospital in Peoria for several years.

She attended Brown County schools.

Survivors include 7 children Roger Toland (Pat), Sharon Short (Don) Richard Toland (Diana, Robert Toland (Ella), Mary Toland, Lyndle Toland (Tami) and Kenneth Toland (Deb).  2 sisters Helen Ferguson and Glenda Orrill.  11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter in infancy, 2 grandsons in infancy, 1 brother Olen Waters and 2 sisters Martha Allen and Maxine Fenton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling, Illinois.

Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery near Fishhook, Illinois.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Woodland Cemetery.
