Rusty Creviston

Mrs. Rusty Lavonne Creviston, age 69, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her residence.

She was born May 4, 1949 in Hersman, Illinois the daughter of George V. “Shorty” and Hetti Grace “Kate” Orr Griggs.  She married James P. Creviston on September 24, 2016 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2018.

Mrs. Creviston worked for Dot Foods in Mt. Sterling for 17 years.  She graduated Perry High School with the class of 1968.

Survivors include two children Duskee Kassing (Aaron) of Mt. Sterling and Denim Perry (Casey) of Versailles.  4 grandchildren Sadee and Sydnee Kassing both of Mt. Sterling and Coti and Finnley Perry both of Versailles.  1 brother Randy Griggs also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers Monty, Tony and Timmy Griggs.

Rusty was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed talking to people about the bible.  She enjoyed traveling and loved her family.  She will be remembered by many for the heartfelt cards she often wrote to loved ones.  

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. 

Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Private burial will be at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Griggs Family Cemetery.
