Beth Kunkel

Beth Ann Kunkel, age 63, of Hersman, Illinois passed away at 5:52 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois.

She was born February 19, 1959 in Beardstown, Illinois the daughter of Donald Earl and Mary Ann Butler Jennings.  She married Charlie Kunkel on April 14, 1978 at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling and he survives. 

Beth was a homemaker and earlier in life worked for Dot Foods, Garrett's Florist and House of Flowers all in Mt. Sterling. 

She graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1977 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling.  Beth always enjoyed making crafts, antiquing, attending auctions and she especially loved the time spent with her family. 

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Kunkel of Hersman.  2 daughters Ranea Kunkel of Hersman and Courtney Hollingsworth (Matt) of Plainfield.  1 brother Mark Jennings and 2 sisters Sheila Wilson (Mark) and Kim Bowen (Joe) all of Mt. Sterling also survive along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister in infancy. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Dan Edwards officiating. Those unable to attend are invited to watch Beth’s service live on her obituary page of the funeral home website, hendrickerfuneralhome.com.  

Burial will follow in the Hersman Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to the Hersman Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice.
