Billy Ray Ingram, age 56, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020 in Schuyler County, Illinois.
He was born July 18, 1964 in Rushville, Illinois the son of Lyle Dean and Clara Myrtle Frances Kendrick Ingram. He married Sylvia Elizabeth “Beth” Alexander on September 8, 1989 in Hannibal, Missouri and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2009.
Billy worked for the Canton Marina Barge Company for several years. He attended Brown County Schools.
Billy always enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include 4 children Christina Owens of Camden, Illinois, Joe Ingram of Golden, Illinois, Sky Davis (Justin) of Camp Point, Illinois and Destiny Ingram of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and her companion, Thomas Herring of Rushville, Illinois. 7 grandchildren Paige Sergerson, Tristin Sergerson, Trinity Davis, Chase Davis, Elizabeth Herring, Cordell Herring and Baby Boy Ingram. 1 brother Charles D. Ingram of Timewell. 2 sisters Thelma Joyce Waters of Quincy, Illinois and Virginia Belle Ingram of Mt. Sterling, Illinois also survive along with several nieces and nephews including Josh, Frances and Jimmy Ingram.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Lyle Eugene Ingram.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Matt Haberman officiating. Friends are also able to watch Billy’s services streaming live on the funeral home website at hendrickerfuneralhome.com.
Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Hersman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Social distancing guidelines will be observed and there will be a limit of 50 visitors at any one time. With the current health concerns, non-physical expressions of condolence are suggested. Please consider refraining from hugs and handshakes, but know that your presence is greatly appreciated.
