Cameron Francis

Cameron William Francis, age 27, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and formerly of Quincy and Liberty, Illinois passed away at 1:23 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas.

He was born May 15, 1995 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Donnell and Angie Kindhart Francis.  

Cameron was a package manager for FedEx Ground in Quincy, Illinois for 10 years. 

He graduated from Liberty High School with the class of 2014 and also took EMT courses from John Wood Community College in Quincy. 

Cameron was of the Catholic faith and attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling.  

He always enjoyed fishing, target shooting, helping with the cattle on the farm and was a mechanic who especially loved working on lawn mowers.   Cameron also enjoyed working in the shop and riding bikes with his father.   

Survivors include his mother and step father Angie and Randy Deming of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.  His father Donnell Francis of Quincy, Illinois.  Grandparents Donna Stephenson of Timewell, Illinois, Verle “Cotton” and Sharon Kindhart of Timewell, Illinois and Judy Francis of Quincy, Illinois.  1 brother Sebastian Francis (Anna) of Houston, Texas.  1 nephew Liam Francis and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of twin nephews.  2 uncles Roger Kindhart (Amber) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and Mark Stephenson (Kristy) of Springfield, Illinois also survive along with his beloved dog Fred and several cousins. 

He was preceded in death by 2 grandfathers Glenn Stephenson and Dave Francis, 2 uncles Brent Kindhart and Darren Francis and 1 aunt Shelly Stephenson.  

A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling with Father Aaron Kuhn officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling. 

Memorials are suggested to the family.
