Daniel Joseph Busby, age 64, of Rushville, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Sterling passed away at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
He was born October 18, 1955 in Quincy, Illinois the son of George B. and Anna Marie Mayfield Busby.
He worked for Roberts Farms in Timewell, Illinois for several years and had also worked for Tate Cheese in Valley City, Illinois.
Dan graduated from Brown County High School and was of the Catholic faith.
He always enjoyed going to toy shows, especially the Timewell Lions Club Toy Show and truly loved collecting 1/64 scale toy farm equipment and semis.
Survivors include 1 brother Tom Busby (Janice) of Rushville, Illinois. 2 sisters Norma Newenham (Don) of Mt. Sterling and Phyllis Wenger (Dale) of Rushville, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery or Timewell Lions Club.
