Gale Roger “Archie” Bradbury, age 71 of Versailles, Illinois passed away at 10:40 P.M. Monday November 23, 2020 at his residence.
He was born November 25, 1948 in Versailles, Illinois the son of Roy Marden and Garnet Eileen Pritchet Bradbury. He married Lulu Belle Wheeler on December 30, 1970 in Versailles, Illinois and she survives.
Mr. Bradbury was a correctional officer for Western Illinois Correctional Center for 22 years, retiring in 2008. He had also worked for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown for several years. Gale attended Brown County schools. Mr. Bradbury served his country in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971.
Survivors include his wife Lulu Bradbury of Versailles, Illinois. 2 children Kimberly Bradbury and Kevin Bradbury (Lacey) all of Mt. Sterling. 8 grandchildren Keleigh Hull, Shawn Michael Roberts, Hannah Roberts, Weston, Carly, Hunter, Gunner and Dean Bradbury. 2 great grandchildren Lane and Leo Penn. 1 sister Rita Christner (Sonny) of Quincy, Illinois. A sister in law Cathy Bradbury also survives along with his beloved dog Harley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers Ronnie, Bill, Benny and Richard Bradbury.
Cremation will be accorded and there will be no services or visitation.
Burial will be at a later date in the Versailles West Side Cemetery.
