Gary Kent Wilkerson, age 63 of rural Versailles,Illinois passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.
He was born June 9, 1957 in Jacksonville, Illinois the son of Horace Eugene and Iona Mae Greiwe Wilkerson. He married Cindy L. Browning on July 12, 2001 at his home in Elkhorn Township in Brown County.
Gary was a lifelong Brown County farmer and had also served as Elkhorn Township Road Commissioner for over 25 years.
He attended Versailles Grade School and graduated from Brown County High School.
Gary was currently attending the Timewell Baptist Church. He always enjoyed hunting, scratching lottery tickets, hunting for sheds and mushrooms and playing ping pong and pool. Gary was always known as a hard worker who was willing to drop everything to help someone in need and he especially enjoyed volunteering each year for the Brown County Fair. Gary also thought of himself as an award winning comedian and always said he wished he had been born rich instead of so darn handsome.
Survivors include his wife Cindy Wilkerson of Versailles. 5 children Kaitlin Wilkerson (Landon Reich) of Portland, Oregon, Shon Mountain, Brant Mountain (Melissa) and Kyle Mountain (Tracy) all of Mt. Sterling and Lance Mountain of Pittsfield.
