Gloria Fry

Gloria Lee Fry, age 90, of Hersman, Illinois passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at her residence. 

She was born August 19, 1933 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Orville W. and Eva M. Dunmire Behymer.  She married John Francis Fry on August 12, 1952 in Hannibal, Missouri and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2011.

Mrs. Fry was a homemaker.  She attended rural Brown County schools and graduated from Brown County High School. 

Mrs. Fry was a member of the Hersman Presbyterian Church.  Gloria always enjoyed quilting and attending family gatherings, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Survivors include 3 children Diana Coulter of Springfield, Illinois, Mike Fry (Donna) of Tennessee and Tammy Herald of Chambersburg, Illinois.  2 brothers Don Behymer (Sue) of Springfield, Illinois and Steve Behymer (Michele) of Hersman, Illinois.  1 sister Carol Steinberg of Jacksonville, Illinois.  6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Shelly Claxton, 1 great granddaughter Kenna and 4 brothers Gordon, Lozelle, Orville LeeRoy and Richard Behymer. 

Cremation will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in the Hersman Cemetery with Pastor Dale Gadberry officiating. 

There will be no visitation. 

Memorials are suggested to the Hersman Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mount Sterling, Illinois 62353.
