Grace Mae "Gracie" was born March 27th, 1927, in Cooperstown, IL., to T. Raymond and Ethel M, (Herren) Bunfill, the second of four children. She spent her youth in Brown County, attending school and graduating from Mt. Sterling High School in 1944.
She was a war bride, marrying James W. Bradbury on December 1st, 1944, prior to his departure to the South Pacific during WWII. After her husband's return in 1946, they began their married life together farming first in Schuyler County, IL, then later in Brown and McDonough counties. During these years, their children, Barbara Brinker (Gary), New London, MO and Bill Bradbury (Cathy), Naples, FL, were born. In the Spring of 1957, they moved to Mason City, IL and later to northern IL.
She has two loving grandchildren, Justin (Lori) Brinker and Jessica Bradbury-Curtis (Steve) and two wonderful step-grandchildren, Dana Smith and Tobin Vehmeier.
Gracie was employed by Micro Switch, (Freeport, IL), a division of Honeywell International. At the apex of her career, she was chosen as one of the few (specialty) trained technicians to build some of the first newly innovative computer keyboards.
She lived her retirement years first in St. George, Utah, with her sister, and then later in Naples, FL., enjoying her family, traveling, flower gardening, music, her 'lunch bunch' friends and volunteering at her church. She was an avid and voracious reader, loved crossword puzzles and she never lost her zest for learning!
She was a Christian and Baptist by faith, and enjoyed the fellowship and support of her church, Westside Baptist Church.
She passed away July 21st, 2022.
Remaining in this life to miss her are her children, grandchildren, her brother Lozelle, two sisters-in-law, many loved nieces and nephews, her step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandsons.
