Henrietta Davis

Henrietta Mae Davis, age 96, of Jacksonville, Illinois and formerly of Timewell, Illinois passed away at 1:32 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois. 

She was born January 16, 1927 in Scott County, Illinois the daughter of William Harvey and Susannah Gladys Butler Hart. She married Ralph Earl Davis on August 23, 1947 in Quincy, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1986.

Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and graduated from Bluffs High School with the class of 1946.

Henrietta always enjoyed bowling, square dancing, crocheting, knitting and was known as an avid county music fan. 

Survivors include 2 children, Diane Wagner of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and Richard “Duke” Davis (Jan) of Jacksonville, Illinois. 3 grandchildren, Ed Wagner, Kristin Davis and Patricia Davis. 1 sister Elizabeth Curtis of Camp Point, Illinois also survives along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 1 son Earl Davis, 3 brothers Burle, Merle and Dean Hart and 2 sisters Vera Davis and Betty Childers. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday November 4, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Mounds Cemetery near Timewell, Illinois. 

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Brown County Against Cancer.
