Janice Lynn Noble, age 75, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 6:54 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois.
She was born November 17, 1945 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Walter and Edith Howk Neastea. She married Marlin Francis “Bill” Noble on April 23, 1971 in El Paso, Illinois and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2006.
Janice truly loved children and had served many families as a daycare provider for over 30 years. She also worked for several years as a school bus driver and for both Flynn’s Market and Bessell’s Flower Shop.
Janice graduated from Central High School in Adams County with the class of 1963 and had also attended John Wood Community College.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Mt. Sterling where she served in numerous capacities including as both elder and deacon.
Janice always enjoyed shopping and especially loved looking for and collecting antiques.
Survivors include 5 children David Noble (Amy) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Susie Lott (Johnny) of Exeter, Illinois, Jackie DeSchenes of Punta Gorda, Florida, Jeff Noble (Jane) of Quincy, Illinois and Mark Noble (Diane) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois. 1 brother Wendell Neastea (Sheila) of Quincy, Illinois. 1 sister Judy Padgett (Denny) of Clayton, Illinois. 1 brother-in-law Everett Gooding of Quincy, Illinois. 1 sister-in-law Rose Marie Brown of Jacksonville, Illinois. 4 grandchildren Justin Noble, Robert McKinney, Katie Sanderson and Jesse Lott also survive along with her family by choice Jessica Phillips and Jennifer Kosmen and their parents Dawn and John Thady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Darlene Ripple, Evelyn Bosworth and Irene Gooding, 1 brother Cecil Neastea and 1 granddaughter Jennifer Caroline “Jenny” Noble.
Per her request, cremation will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the Hebron Cemetery south of Mt.Sterling.
There will be no visitation.
