Mona Gragg

Mona Lee Gragg, age 89, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 3:47 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Illinois. 

She was born April 23, 1933 in Schuyler County, Illinois the daughter of Clarence Lynell and Ruby Ellen Kessinger Dunn.  She married Teddy E. Gragg on August 29, 1956 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2011.  

Mrs. Gragg was a homemaker and was also a member of both the Mt. Sterling First Baptist Church and the Mt. Sterling American Legion Post #374 Auxiliary. 

Mona always enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many activities and G’ma Mo wasn’t only G’ma to her grandkids, but to every kid that knew her.  

Survivors include 3 children Jo Ann Geisler (Dan) of Mt. Sterling, Steve Gragg (Cindy) of Versailles and Marc Gragg (Julie) of Mt. Sterling.  7 grandchildren Karen Geisler, Brian Geisler (Krista), Cassie Oeser (Mike), Alyssa Seckman (Darren), Kyle Gragg, Maggie Gragg (Chad Boyd) and Luke Gragg (Nikki).  8 great grandchildren, (with her 9th great grandchild expected in September).  1 brother-in-law Clinton Barker of Mt. Sterling and 2 sisters-in-law Esther Dunn and Leona Dunn both of Mt. Sterling also survive along with several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers Herb, John, Harold, Carl and Glenn Dunn and 2 sisters Maye Barker and Marjorie Dunn. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 in the Rushville City Cemetery with Pastor Dan Dexter officiating. 

There will be no visitation. 

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Sterling First Baptist Church or Brown County Against Cancer and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, Illinois 62353.
