Nelly Dunmire

Nelly Marie Dunmire, age 87, a resident of Timber Point Healthcare Center in Camp Point, Illinois and formerly of Golden, Illinois passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at the nursing home. 

She was born December 27, 1932 in Oregon, Illinois the daughter of Thomas and Zoe Mills McGill.  She married Frank Junior Dunmire on April 16, 1951 in Beardstown, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2003.  

Mrs. Dunmire was a homemaker and was a member of the former Hersman Presbyterian Church.  

Nelly enjoyed bowling, square dancing, reading, playing bingo and shopping. 

Survivors include 6 children Deborah Balke (Richard) of Beverly Hills, Florida, Peggy Sievers of Clayton, Illinois, Judy Parn (Leland) of Quincy, Illinois, Patricia Dunmire of Raleigh, North Carolina, Glen Dunmire of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and Lisa Flesner of Camp Point, Illinois.  7 grandchildren Eric and Eron Sievers, Christina Duffy, Sean Balke, Crystal Houston (Mark), Amanda Tenhouse (Ross) and Blake Parn.  12 great grandchildren.  1 great great grandson. 1 sister Betty Smith of Golden, Illinois.  2 brothers Dick McGill (Joan) of Texas and Marvin “Dutch” McGill of Galesburg, Illinois also survive along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandchildren Jessica and Jadynne Flesner and several brothers and sisters.  

Cremation has been accorded and graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in the Hersman Cemetery.  

There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the Timber Point Healthcare Center Activity Fund and may be left or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
