Nina Young

Nina Maxine Young, age 81, a resident of the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, Missouri and formerly of Ripley, Illinois passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the nursing home.

She was born June 14, 1939 in Ripley, Illinois the daughter of Russell Roscoe and Ruby Pearl Gossage Moore.  She married John Munson Young on January 3, 1958 in Palmyra, Missouri and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2016.  

Mrs. Young was a homemaker.  She attended Ripley schools and attended both the Ripley and Cooperstown Christian Churches.  

Survivors include 1 daughter Roxann Davis (Companion, William Woods) of Kahoka, Missouri.  4 grandchildren Misty Donaldson, Ty Hancock II (Delores), Tiffany Hubbard (Jamey) and Ann Herman.  10 great grandchildren Cheyann (Chance), Cherakee, Sioux, Devon, Russell, Ethan, Brody, Mariah, Preston and Brayden.  1 great great granddaughter Izlynn.   2 sisters Zelma Kaye Jones of Mt. Sterling and Lena Lambert of Beardstown, Illinois also survive along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters Betty Moore, Rosalie Childers, Velma Corbin and Opal Henson and 1 great great grandson Munson. 

We know that Nina deserves a beautiful tribute and understand that under normal circumstances many friends would love to attend.  But sadly due to the current health situation and under the direction of the local health department, the services are to be conducted with only immediate family members in attendance.

Burial will follow in the Ripley Cemetery.

We also encourage the community to leave a condolence or remembrance on the website for the family.  

There will be no visitation.
