Patricia Long

Patricia Jane Long, beloved wife of David Long, age 82, of rural Mt. Sterling, Illinois passed away at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 at her residence. 

She was born October 23, 1941 in Avon, Illinois the daughter of Lawrence A. and Lenora Lillian Longcor Perry.  She married David Morgan Long on September 20, 1996 in Versailles, Illinois and he survives. 

Mrs. Long worked as a meat cutter for Excel in Beardstown, Illinois for several years.

She attended Bushnell, Illinois schools. 

Survivors include her husband David Long of Mt. Sterling, Illinois.  7 children Billy Joe Walker of Beardstown, Illinois, David Walker of Meredosia, Illinois, Diana Watkins of Meredosia, Illinois, Don Walker of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Christina Peek of Meredosia, Illinois, Dan Walker of Meredosia, Illinois and Bob Walker of Meredosia, Illinois.  1 step daughter Tina May Stout of Hannibal, Missouri.  2 brothers Denny Perry of Bushnell, Illinois and Jerry Perry of St. Louis, Missouri also survive along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters Judy Hadsell and Kathy Balance, 1 granddaughter Tabitha Walker, 1 great grandson Hudson Brown, 1 brother Larry Perry and 2 sisters Barbara Hoyle and Shirley Parrick.

Cremation will be accorded and burial of the cremated remains will be in the Mt. Sterling City Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
