Robert "Bob" Lauderback

Robert Glen “Bob” Lauderback, age 71, of Beardstown, Illinois passed away at 9:23 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2020 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Illinois. 

He was born April 8, 1949 in Beardstown, Illinois the son of Glen and Dorothea Louise Schaefer Lauderback.  He married Janet Jockisch on June 1, 1969 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown, Illinois and she survives.  

Mr. Lauderback owned and operated Lauderback Carpet in Beardstown, Illinois for over 40 years.  He also worked for Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown and was the custodian at First National Bank of Beardstown for 16 years. 

Bob graduated from Beardstown High School with the class of 1967.  

Mr. Lauderback was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country in the United States Army. 

He was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown. 

Survivors include his wife Janet Lauderback of Beardstown, Illinois.  2 children James Lauderback (Schuyler) and Julie Cowan (Jim) all of Beardstown, Illinois.  3 grandchildren Staci Crowe, Quinlan Lauderback and Jalie Cowan.  2 great grandchildren Breezi and Autumn.  1 brother Jack Lauderback (Ruth) of Loami, Illinois and 1 sister Lisa Lauderback Collison of Kampsville, Illinois also survives along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson J. J. Cowan. 

Private services will be held with burial to follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown, Illinois. 

There will be no visitation. 

Memorials are suggested to the Guthrie-Pierce V.F.W. Post # 1239 or Beardstown Christian Academy and may be left or mailed to the Hendricker Funeral Home, 406 South Capitol Avenue, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
