Samantha Knotts

Samantha Kay Knotts, age 51, of Jacksonville, Illinois and formerly of Versailles, Illinois, passed away at 11:09 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois.

She was born August 22, 1972 in Jacksonville, Illinois the daughter of Lewis and Judy Dunmire Ham.  She married Robin Knotts on May 23, 2013 in Jacksonville and he survives.  

Samantha graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1990 and was employed by A. C. Humko in Jacksonville for 25 years.  She also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Pharmaceutical Technician for several years.  

Samantha enjoyed family time and had a love of dogs, especially her dog Frank. 

Survivors include her father, Lewis Ham of Versailles.  Her mother, Judy Dunmire Snyder (Mike) of Versailles.  Her husband Robin Knotts of Jacksonville.  Two Step children Shayla Behnen (Ryan) of Rockbridge, Illinois and Philip Knotts of Chicago, Illinois.  One sister Suzanne Ray (Andy) of Mt. Sterling.  One brother Joe Ham (Jessica) of Mt. Sterling.  Two step grandchildren also survive along with three nieces and one nephew.  

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Henry and Wilma DeWitt Ham and her maternal grandparents Albert and Claira Floyd Dunmire. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Daryl Vermillion officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Versailles West Side Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to the Brown County Animal Rescue.
