Vivian Gieker

Vivian Roberta Gieker, age 90, a resident of Timberpoint Healthcare Center in Camp Point, Illinois and formerly of Timewell, Illinois passed away at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the nursing home. 

She was born June 12, 1930 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Ruby Upchurch Taylor.  She married John H. Gieker on September 4, 1959 and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2005.

Mrs. Gieker  served as a bookkeeper for both B & B Tire Service and Ron’s Tire Service for several years, retiring in 2006.  

She attended Shank School in Brown County and graduated from Clayton High School.  Vivian then graduated from Robert Morris College in Carthage, Illinois. 

Mrs. Gieker was a member of the Timewell Christian Church.  Vivian always loved sewing and quilting and enjoyed being a member of the After Supper Quilting Club. 

Survivors include 2 sons Jim Gieker (Sheila) of Clayton, Illinois and Joe Gieker (Julie) of Charlotte, North Carolina.  2 grandchildren Dylan Gieker of Charlotte, North Carolina and Amber Reed and family of Nashville, Tennessee also survive. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the Mounds Cemetery near Timewell, Illinois with Rev. Richard Young officiating. 

There will be no visitation. 

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Timewell Christian Church.
