My condolences to you Tracy, your family and the extended family of Johnny. He was a gem of a guy and will be remembered for his warmth, smiles and stories. He was a first cousin of my mother who always spoke well of him and so I felt I knew him even before I met him. Rest in peace, cousin.

Tracy and family, so sorry to hear of Johnny Mac`s passing. I worked with Mac for many years at Dot and will always remember his skill for story telling. Whether it was about his service to our nation or his truck driving days he had many stories. Many times we went to the East Coast and back and never left town, if you know what I mean. He was a good guy and will be missed. God Bless

McDaniel Family, Please rest assured you are in our thoughts and prayers. So many memories of a true lifetime warrior. He was so proud to have served his country. He hauled me to the airport many times and I remember vividly the wonderful feeling looking up in the airport and seeing that shiny head; it felt like you were already home. His first words were always "well I see you made it back" RIP my friend.

I remember seeing Johnny Mac go into the nursing home daily about 8 years ago, and thought what a devoted friend! I asked him one day in FS why he was there so much (where I worked and he happened to stop in frequently) His answer was something about being a good friend! Turns out, he passed that devotion on to his family, especially Tracy! He literally raised his best friend! Seeing this relationship has taught me so much! So thank you for that! I've never seen his face light up, quite like when one of his grand kids walked in, especially his one and only granddaughter! Johnny Mac is blessed with love, because that's what he always showed! What a beautiful life lived!
I want to send my sincerest condolences to Johnny Macs entire family and friends! I am blessed to know such a funny, good hearted man!

Donna, Fred, Jon and Will;

John was a one-of-a-kind person. I enjoyed talking to him and the last time I had the honor to visit with him Jon and I were talking to him and he lit up when he talked about his grandkids and all they were doing. He was so proud to be a Grandfather and proud of every one of those kids.

At times like this you sit back and reflect of the person who is taking that final journey and all I can add is that there are people who talk, there are people that can relate past adventures and then there are the select few who can paint a past adventure into a story that brings the listener into that adventure. With John it did not matter if it was WW2, driving, gardening, a trip, a simple drive to St. Louis or just something related to him at his "coffee group" he could tell it with such words that you truly felt you were on that adventure also.

Please know our family is keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers and also hold close the cherished memories of a great person whose passing has left the world a little less colorful.

Godspeed Johnny Mac and as you sit with our Heavenly Host for coffee I can only imagine the stories you will have. I would love to hear that conversation relating to the person with the missing $#! and how you had to chase him all over Europe!

My thoughts and prayers will be with Johnny Mac's family. My son, Steve Geisler was the first high school boy Bob Tracy hired and Steve worked with Johnny, even rode with him on one long haul. Steve was home from Arizona in early September for my birthday and he went to Heritage and they shared a lot of memories. Steve enjoyed that visit with Johnny Mac so much. I'm sure Steve will shed some tears when he hears of Johnny's death.
